Stocks I have in 2014

I have learned from my mistakes of buying penny stocks which i thought it will rise as soon as possible so I can sell them. In reality, they don't. So I start investing in stocks that they are stable and give regular dividends and probably will grow over the years. So far, the stocks I am holding include:

On Thu 8/5/2014, I manage to buy 2 lots of Religare HTrust (RF1U) at $0.850 per share. The company has announced to release financial results for the fourth Quarter and Full year ended 31 March 31 March 2014. Results will be announcing at 21 May 2014 after trading hour. It is likely that they will declare the dividend to unit holders.

On Friday 9/5/2014, I sold 2 lots of Cache Log Trust (K2LU) @ $1.185 per share. After deducted all the admin fees, I manage to earn $148.63. If include the dividends, it will be $234.17.

Other Stock I have bought in 2013

Other stocks that I have bought in 2013 include:
  • Moya Hldg Asia
  • Scintronix^
  • Albedo
  • MacqIntInfra

Basically, they are penny stocks.

6/6/2013 Scintronix 0.024 40 987.24
8/7/2013 Transcu 0.01 80 827.16

I did manage to sold 3 of the stocks (highlighted in yellow) and earned nearly $400. However, I was so greedy that I do silly stuff again by buying 50 lots of Scintronix @ $0.019 (Total Cost: $933.39).

One year later, the stock got delisted from SGX as the company was in red for 3 consecutive years, this is the very first time I encounter this. I didn't know what to do when SGX announced it. I search from forums and asking people around, but then the price has drop to $0.001. I have not choice but to cut the loss. My net loss: $884.51. This is a painful experience.

When buying penny stock, if I have place a stop loss price. I wouldn't have loss so much. After this painful experience, I start to invest in stocks that are fundamentally strong or give regular dividend. Stocks like REITS and Business Trust are pretty stable and they give out dividend every year. From there on, I mainly focus on REITs and BusinessTrusts.

First Stock I bought

Like everyone, I was aiming to earn quick money, so I bought one of the penny stock during Nov 2012. The very first stock I bought is call Transcu, I buy 20 lots at $0.014. It costs $306.90 (include commission fee and other fees). Initially I hope it can rise to $0.016, so I can earn a small profit to have a taste of it. But then, it never rise at all.

A few months later, the stock dropped further to $0.01. So I average down, I bought another 80 lots. Again, I thought it can rise to $0.012, so I sell it. Unfortunately, it never.

Up due today, 4 April 2014. The price had drop until $0.001-0.002. This is my very first silly mistake in investment stock.

Lesson Learnt:
Don't buy things that you are unfamiliar with. The stock which I bought I didn't really know what this company is doing. I never read their annual reports at all. I only base on the charts and the price it was moving.

If you really want to buy penny stocks. my only advice is don't hold it for too long and you have to see volume is it moving a lot or not.
